The Youth Ambassador program was launched to tap into the vast potential of youth members of our community and the valued contribution they make to the local workforce. Kootenay Employment Services selected five Youth Ambassadors who used social media to promote youth employment in the Creston area throughout the summer of 2021. The Youth Ambassadors put the spotlight on the valuable skills and experience they gained from employment. This important message was delivered by young people to young people. The impact of the program has been seen in a marked uptick in youth self-referrals to employment programs in our area.
