Supporting the development of housing in the Creston Valley-Kootenay Lake area is a key point of priority for the CV-KL Economic Action Partnership. With this project, the Economic Action Partnership seeks to facilitate an increased level of collaboration between non-profit housing providers in our area.
Given that most housing providers in Creston-Kootenay Lake are 100% volunteer-run, establishing more formalized collaboration between the various housing organizations in our area would allow for much-needed support, shared efficiencies and, possibly, a pooling of expertise and resources. Increased collaboration will strengthen our communities’ ability both to keep operating non-profit housing, and to apply for funds for the development of new housing units, which are so desperately needed in the Creston Valley-Kootenay Lake area.
This project is made possible by a funding award of $ 99,456 from the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund. The CV-KL EAP assisted with the preparation of the proposal that resulted in the funding award from the Community Services Recovery Fund, and continues to support this initiative through project management.
