Now is the time to speak-up about what support you need, the opportunities you envision for this area, and how you can provide support.

Where focus goes energy flows. Local businesses are the next priority of focus for our regional economic strategy.

Whether you’re a sole proprietor or corporation, home-based or brick and mortar, starting-out or veteran business, blue collar or in an office environment – your business and input matters!

As you may have heard, the Creston Valley-Kootenay Lake Economic Action Partnership (CV-KL EAP) is nearing completion of determining the regional economic strategy. The priorities are set to be completed by the end of April 2018.

Over the next 3 weeks, the CV-KL EAP will be engaging in conversation and meetings with local businesses. This is a great opportunity for business owners, operators or managers to collectively decide on actions that local government, businesses and community groups can carry out to improve our local economy. Now is the time to speak-up about what support you need, the opportunities you envision for this area, and how you can provide support.

To accommodate to business schedules, the CV-KL EAP will be hosting one breakfast meeting in Creston (on Tuesday March 20th from 7:30am-10:30am at Jimmy’s Pub Banquet Room) and one afternoon meeting in Crawford Bay (on Tuesday March 27th from 1pm-4pm at Kokanee Springs Resort). Both meetings will follow the same agenda.

The CV-KL EAP will present business feedback from engagement completed to date; which includes the EAP Strategy Survey from Fall 2017, and, the Business Support Survey from January 2018. The results will provide a great starting point for discussion and inspire realistic action items – that are set to be determined in both meetings.

To attend either meeting, please email economy@kes.bc.ca with your name and business name as soon as possible. Please note: due to limited seats, reservation priority will be given to local business owners, operators or managers first. For more information about these events, please visit our Facebook page @CrestonValleyKootenayLake or go to our CV-KL EAP website at eap.kes.bc.ca/events/.

Unable to attend a meeting? We still want to hear from you! Please contact the CV-KL EAP today at 250-428-5655 ext. 429. We welcome the opportunity to talk further in-person or over the phone about your thoughts around local business priorities.

See you soon!
